WELCOME!!!
PASS (Pilipino Academic Student Services) is an entirely student-run recruitment & retention center at the University of California Berkeley! We're here for every step of your journey--from elementary school to life after college :) Check us out!!

RECRUITMENT
Since 1996, PASS has been divided into three components. All of these components work together to build a cohesive community for current students to be a part of and prospective students of all ages to explore. One of these components is the Recruitment component. The Recruitment component of PASS consists of six positions. These positions include: Assistant Director of Recruitment, Co-Outreach Coordinators, Transfer Outreach & Retention Coordinator, Youth Mentorship Coordinator, and Shadow Coordinator. These staff members work to reach out to prospective students and to bring them to UC Berkeley to give them a sense of life here at Cal through all the programs that PASS Recruitment offers.

High School Outreach

Wondering what classes you should be taking in high school for college? Thinking about college life? Maybe how you should approach the SATs, APs and all those exams? PASS visits high schools in the Bay Area and southern California to answer these types of questions and helps high school students explore the opportunities UC Berkeley is able to provide.
Contact Co-Outreach Coordinators Anjeli Ricasata and Rita Zhang to arrange an outreach to your school!

Transfer Outreach

Want to make sure you're on track for transferring to a university? Through visits to community colleges in the Bay Area and southern California and welcome days on campus, we have the resources to help you out!

Youth Mentorship

Volunteers regularly visit and play with elementary school children in San Francisco, nurturing lasting friendships! PASS brings together UC Berkeley students and children grades K-7 who participate in the Filipino Educational Center's Galing Bata bilingual program, located in SF's South of San Francisco Market District, to help build a desire to reach higher education early in life.
Contact Youth Mentorship Coordinator Casey Gin to find out how to get involved!

Filipino Empowerment Day (October 2007)

Filipino Empowerment Day is an event held annually to bring together college and high school students across the Bay Area. For high school students, it is an excellent opportunity to meet with some Bay Area community colleges and universities, learn more about college life and culture and get one-on-one help with college applications.
For more information, please contact Assistant Director of Recruitment Michelle De La Cruz .

Shadow Days/Nights

PASS arranges day-long and overnight visits that include tours, workshops, and other activities at our campus for interested high school and community college groups to help students get a sense of life at UC Berkeley.
Contact Shadow Coordinator Eunice Tingzon to arrange a visit!

Senior Weekend (April 2008)

In the spring, newly admitted graduating high school seniors are invited to stay for a weekend with a host volunteer for a very unique introduction into Cal life. PASS organizes workshops and activities to help students learn more about UC Berkeley and get acquainted with their future fellow classmates.
Contact Assistant Director of Recruitment Michelle De La Cruz to learn more about how you can get involved!

Appeals Assistance

Not accepted to Cal? You may be able to appeal that decision. For students with special circumstances, PASS volunteers help guide each student through the appeals process.
