PREPARATION FOR COLLEGE

Coursework - Subject Requirements (as of 2005)

In order to fulfill the "Subject Requirement" to be "UC Eligible" in the statewide context, you must take 15 units of UC-approved courses listed below. Note that ONE UNIT = ONE ACADEMIC YEAR (i.e.: two semesters of the class... AP Biology 1-2) and 7 of the 15 must be taken in your last two years of high school.

MAKE NOTE OF THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF YEARS! We often get asked, "DO YOU HAVE TO DO THE RECOMMENDED?" And the answer is... no... BUT it is highly suggested that you do. UC's are competitive and in order to make yourself prepared for the competition, you should make the extra efforts. Doing the recommended (and perhaps beyond that) will move you to the top of the pack.

>>>Want to know what classes at YOUR HIGH SCHOOL fit the requirements? Check out the Pathways list.
