Remember, you should take courses that are transferable, that
satisfy University and college requirements and that fulfill prerequisites
in your major.
Complete all transferable coursework by the end of the spring
semester before transferring.
Visit campus. Whatever college you ultimately decide to transfer
to will be your place of study for at least the next two years.
Make sure it is the right environment for you.
Begin coursework in your major as soon as you have selected one.
Berkeley may require you to complete certain major preparation
requirements by the end of the preceding spring term. Lack of
pre-major work may affect your eligibility for your major, especially
if there are many applicants and a limited number of spaces.
Know your professors. Take advantage of office hours to go over
complicated class material and to improve study skills. Developing
a good relationship with your professor may help when you need
recommendation letters.
Meet with your counselor! Counselors know the transfer process
well, that’s their job! If you need advice or guidance,
they should be your first resource for information. Meeting with
your counselor at least once per semester will endure you are
staying on track and taking the necessary coursework.
Check your status. Are you in a guaranteed admissions program
such as DAP (Dual Admissions Process) or GTO (Guaranteed Transfer
Option)? Make sure you’re on track! |
